Mike Dailey
Commander, Aurora Police Department (Ret.)

Commander Michael Dailey (Ret.) served in law enforcement for four decades, culminating his career with the Aurora Police Department from 1996 to 2017. Starting as a lateral officer from Englewood PD, he rose through the ranks from patrol officer to Commander, leading critical units including SWAT, Narcotics, and K-9 operations.
Dailey played pivotal roles as a senior command officer during major incidents, including the 2008 Democratic National Convention and the 2012 Century 16 Theater response. His leadership in District 1, Aurora's busiest district, demonstrated his ability to manage complex urban policing challenges. His nearly 30+ years on the SWAT team made him an expert in metropolitan SWAT tactics.
A graduate of the University of Phoenix with extensive executive training from the IACP and the University of Denver, Dailey continues to shape law enforcement leadership as an IACP instructor for the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police. His distinguished service earned him the department's highest honors: the Medal of Honor, Life Saving Award, and Meritorious Service Award.
After 40 Years in Law Enforcement, Commander Dailey retired in March 2017.
